Were silent movies filmed in Skokie?

From 1905 – 1915, Essanay Film Studios in Chicago may have used Skokie as a back drop for some of their Western Films before moving their operations to Niles, California. Being a rural community with dirt roads, plank sidewalks and an abundance of taverns, Skokie would have made a fitting back drop.
